B SECTION 3: Bm through Bo.

B'Moth, I.K.S.: Klingon battleship, K't'inga-class battlecruiser. The B'Moth was patrolling the Cardassian border in 2373 when it was set upon by Jem'Hadar warships. 35 survivors were rescued by the bird-of-prey Rotarran. ("Soldiers of the Empire" [DS9 #119]).
B'Nar.: Talarian mourning ritual. ("Suddenly Human" [TNG #76]).
B'Non.: B'Tin who infiltrated the Zuynan population of their shared homeworld, Zuyna. B'Non first disguised himself as Fedeation cultural observer Mirenna Dora, then as Prime Minister Dranna Zhan to stop the Zuynans from exterminating his people, the B'Tin. ("The Price of Admission" [DC vol.2 TOS #29]).
Bochra.: Romulan centurion. ("The Enemy" [TNG #55]). Played by John Snyder, who also portrayed Aaron Conor in "The Masterpiece Society" [TNG #113].
Boday.: Gallamite Starfleet captain. ("The Maquis" [DS9 #40&41]; "Let He Who Is Without Sin..." [DS9 #105]; "Resurrection" [DS9 #132]).
Body.: Term used on Beta III. ("The Return of the Archons" [TOS #22]).
Boffin.: Species. In 2369 a Boffin was visiting Deep Space 9 and was disappointed the wormhole was closed due to instability. ("The Siege" [Pocket DS9 #2]).
Bogrow, Paul.: ("Identity Crisis" [TNG #92]).
Boheeka.: ("Paradise Lost" [DS9 #84]).
Bok.: Ferengi, a former DaiMon. ("The Battle" [TNG #10]; "Bloodlines" [TNG #174]). Played by Frank Corsentino in "The Battle" and Lee Arenberg in "Bloodlines."
Bokai, Harmon "Buck.": 21st century baseball player. ("The Storyteller" [DS9 #14]; "If Wishes Were Horses" [DS9 #16]). Played by Keone Young.
Bokkan.: Quatrini. ("Veritas" [DC TOS vol.2 #30]).
Bok'Nor.: Cardassian freighter that was destroyed by a bomb while at Deep Space 9 in 2370, allegedly by Maquis operative William Samuels. This attack set off a series of encounters between Maquis, Starfleet and Cardassian forces. ("The Maquis" [DS9 #40&41]).
Bokor.: Andorian man. ("Quarantine" [Pocket TNG #54]).
Bolarus IX.: Homeworld of the Bolians. ("Allegiance" [TNG #66]).
Boldaric masters.: ("Crossover" [DS9 #43]).
Bolian tonic water.: ("Paradise Lost" [DS9 #84]).
Bolian Bistro.: Bolian restaurant on Starbase 209 where Will Riker and Shana Winslow had dinner. A Bolian Bistro also opened on Deep Space Nine, but some were reticient ot attend because of the Bolian tendency to use partially decayed meat in their cuisine. ("Crossfire" [DS9 #85]; "Behind Enemy Lines" [Pocket Dominion War #1]).
Bolians.: Humanoid species noted for their blue skin and a bifurcated central facial ridge. ("Conspiracy" [TNG #25]; "Allegiance" [TNG #66]; "Half a Life" [TNG #96]; "Ensign Ro" [TNG #103]; "Schisms" [TNG #131]; "Emissary" [DS9 #1&2]; "The Forsaken" [DS9 #17]; "Paradise Lost" [DS9 #84]; "Learning Curve" [VGR #16]; "Generations" [Movie #7]; "Insurrection" [Movie #9]). The Saratoga tactical officer played by Stephen Davies was not named in "Emissary", but later referred to as Zar in the novel "Saratoga" [Pocket DS9 #18]. The unnamed Bolian Academy commandant was played by Rudolph Willrich.
Bolivar, U.S.S.: Federation starship, Miranda-class frigate, Starfleet registry NCC-1862. The Bolivar was one of two ships that attempted to capture a runabout carrying Omega Squadron after their escape from detention after an illegal visit to Talos IV. Bolivar was prevented from apprehending them when a Romulan bird-of-prey uncloaked and attacked them. ("Renegades" [Marvel SA #12]).
Boliviar.: Maquis cell. ("Victims of Deceit" [Malibu DS9 Maquis #3]).
Bolt, Jason.: ("Red Sector" [Pocket TNG #53]).
Bolt, Zack.: ("Red Sector" [Pocket TNG #53]).
Boma, Samuel.: Scientist. Boma was serving in Starfleet in the science department aboard the Enterprise when he was assigned to the shuttlecraft Galileo under Spock's command in order to closely examine the Murasaki 312 quasar. That ship was drawn into the disturbance and was forced to crash on Taurus II, where several members of the Galileo crew were killed by primitive natives. On several occasions during the mission, Boma challenged the mission commander's decisions. After the remaining five crew members were rescued, Engineer Scott convened a court martial, resulting in a reprimand for Boma. Boma chose to leave Starfleet and became a civilian physicist working for Vice-Admiral Rittenhouse's dreadnought project. Boma helped design many of the technical improvements of the Star Empire dreadnought prototype. Boma became on of Rittenhouse's cadre of enforcers when the Admiral attempted to use his ship to take control of galactic politics, but later had a change of heart and fled before the Admiral was defeated by Piper. ("The Galileo Seven" [TOS # 13]; "Dreadnought!" [Pocket TOS #29]; "Battlestations!" [Pocket TOS #31]; "Present Tense" [Pocket TOS Janus Gate #1]). Played by Don Marshall.
B'omar.: ("The Raven" [VGR]).
B'omar Sovereignty.: ("The Raven" [VGR]).
Bonestell, U.S.S.: Federation starship, Oberth-class scout, Starfleet registry NCC-31600. The Bonestell was destroyed by the Borg in 2367 at the Battle of Wolf 359, in the same battle group as the Melbourne and Saratoga. ("Emissary" [DS9 #1&2]). The vessel was seen through the window of Sisko's quarters on the Saratoga.
Bon Homme Richard, U.S.S.: Federation starship, Starfleet registry NCC-1712. Built at Starfleet's San Francisco fleet yards on Earth. The only ship from an entire task force to survive battle with the Klingon dreadnought Maj'akan during the Four Years War. Commander James Kirk served as the executive officer of this vessel for some missions, his first such assignment as a second in command. Bon Homme Richard was one of the ships that greeted the Enterprise back into the galaxy after the Inversion Drive test in 2268. Bonai.: ("Relicquest" [Marvel VGR #6-8]).
Bonaventure, Ruth.: ("Mudd's Women" [TOS #3]). Played by Maggie Thrett.
Bonaventure, U.S.S.: First ship of its type, this vessel was the first to feature a new installation warp drive, a landmark in starship construction. The Bonaventure was lost in the area of space known as the Delta Triangle on its third voyage. ("The Time Trap" [TAS]).
Bond.: Enterprise-D nurse on the 2367 triage team to the wrecked starship Marco Polo. ("Thin Ice" [DC TNG vol.2 Annual #2]).
Bondar.: Captain of the U.S.S. Gauvreau in 2366. The Gauvreau was assigned to retrieve a scientific package in a shuttlecraft from the singularity known as Kabreigny's Object, but was attacked by the Enterprise-D, which had been taken over by Adrik Thorsen in Data's body. She was not pleased. ("Federation" [Pocket TOS HC #8]).
Bonifay, Zane.: Bosun aboard Nick Keller's Challenger. ("Challenger" [Pocket New Earth]; "Chainmail" [Pocket Gateways #2]).
Boothby.: Groundskeeper at Starfleet Academy. ("The Game" [TNG]; "The First Duty" [TNG]; "In the Flesh" [VGR #98]; "The Fight" [VGR #108]; "Prime Directives" [Marvel SA #1]; "Passages" [Marvel SA #6]). The part of Boothby was played by the late Ray Walston, best known for his dramatic work in Picket Fences and his role as Martin in My Favorite Martian.
Bopak.: ("Hippocratic Oath" [DS9 #75]).
Bopak III.: ("Hippocratic Oath" [DS9 #75]).
Boraal II.: ("Homeward" [TNG #165]).
Boraal II/Vacca VI transformation.: ("Homeward" [TNG #165]).
Boraalan chronicle.: ("Homeward" [TNG #165]).
Boraalan seer.: ("Homeward" [TNG #165]).
Boraalans.: ("Homeward" [TNG #165]).
Boradis.: ("The Emissary" [TNG #46]).
Boragi.: ("The Quiet Place" [Pocket NF #7]).
Boragi III.: ("The Quiet Place" [Pocket NF #7]).
Bo'rak.: Klingon Intelligence agent. ("Visionary" [DS9 #63]). Played by Bob Minor.
Boranis III.: ("The Quickening" [DS9 #95]).
Borath.: ("The Search" [DS9 #47&48]). Played by Dennis Christopher.
borathium.: ("Ethics" [TNG #116]).
Boratus.: ("Captain's Holiday" [TNG #67]). Played by Michael Champion.
Boreal III.: ("Silicon Avatar" [TNG #104]).
Boreal, S.S.: ("Intellivore" [Pocket TNG #45]).
Boreas.: ("A Fury Scorned" [Pocket TNG #43]).
Boreth.: ("Rightful Heir" [TNG #149]; "The Way of the Warrior" [DS9 #73&74]).
Boretskee.: Thallonian man who, along with his wife Cary, were among the 47 refugees that obtained passage from Sector 221-G aboard the Cambon. Boretskee and Cary spoke for the rest of the refugees when they accepted an offer from Laheera of Nelkar to resettle there. Boretskee was later killed by Laheera as a sign that she was serious when she demanded technology in trade for the lives of the refugees she had taken hostage. Borg.: Collective species native to the Delta Quadrant of our galaxy. The Borg exist as organic entities encnced with cybernetic devices, built by nanoprobes. This group perpetuates itself by attacking and assimilating new entities into their collective. The Borg control a large portion of our galaxy and are constantly expanding to conquer new species. The Borg have made several attempts to assimilate Earth and the Federation since first contact was made with them in 2365. Borge.: A type of inboard deflector dish used on starships in the late 23rd century. (Ships of the Star Fleet).
Borgia V.: Inhabited planet. In 2364 Lieutenant Commander Sheva Hev'lek of the starship Sheffield commanded an operation here to defend Federation civilians against militant Ferengi merchants. (Officer's Manual [FASA TNG]).
Borido.: ("Planet of Judgement" [Bantam TOS]).
Borjas, Andrew.: ("A Rock and a Hard Place" [Pocket TNG #10]).
Bortas, I.K.S.: Klingon battleship, Vor'cha-class attack cruiser. The Bortas is the flagship of the Klingon fleet. ("Redemption" [TNG #100&101]).
Borth.: Orion representative to the Nisus Council. ("The IDIC Epidemic" [Pocket TOS #38]).
Bosinney, George.: Engineering trainee on the starship Starbound. ("Survivors" [Pocket TNG #4]).
Bo'tex.: ("Dujonians Hoard" [Pocket Captain's Table #2]).
Bothan.: Race that Voyager encountered in 2372. The Botha turned out to be a ruse created by a telepathic being who was attempting to turn Voyager back. ("Persistence of Vision" [VGR #24]). He may or may not have stolen the plans to the second Death Star.
Bounds, Alan.: ("Planet of Judgement" [Bantam TOS]).

Bounty, H.M.S.: ("The Search for Spock" [Movie #3]; "The Voyage Home" [Movie #4]; "Promises to Keep" [DC TOS #9]; "Double Image" [DC TOS #10]; "Deadly Reflection" [DC TOS #11]).
Bowers, Sam: Starfleet tactical and security lieutenant stationed on Starbase Deep Space Nine. ("Demons of Air and Darkness" [Pocket Gateways #4]; "Twilight" [Pocket DS9 Mission Gamma #1]).
bowling alley.: Recreational area aboard the starship Enterprise.("Crossroad" [Pocket TOS]). The bowling alley was orginally presented in Franz Joseph's Enterprise blueprints, and was slated to be included in a second series DC comic written by Peter David. The scene was vetoed by Paramount's licensing office at the last minute and the pages were retooled to feature a phaser shooting range. Luckily, the alley made it into the Barbara Hambly novel some years later. The bowling alley screenshot was 3D modeled by programmers who intended to make it an easteregg in the cancelled game "Secrets of Vulcan Fury."
Bowman, Tanya.: ("The Unconquered" [DC TNG vol.2 #78]).
Boyajian.: Tall, dark haired Starfleet security crewman serving on the starship Excalibur-A. Boyajian is cross trained in tactical operations, as a security guard and is also certified to take a vessels helm should the need arise. He has served previously on the Enterprise-D, Grissom, Deep Space 9, and the Excalibur. ("Strike Zone" [Pocket TNG #5]; "Vendetta" [Pocket TNG Giant #2]; "The Siege" [Pocket DS9 #2]; "The Two-Front War" [Pocket NF #3]; "Once Burned" [Pocket Captain's Table #5]).
Boyajian, Jerry.: Security crewman on the starship Enterprise-A. ("Old Loyalties" [DC TOS #54]; "Finnegan's Wake" [DC TOS #55]).
Boyce.: Crewman on the starship Defiant who died while fighting the Jem'Hadar in the atmosphere of a class-J gas giant planet in 2372. ("Starship Down" [DS9 #79]).
Boyce, Philip.: Chief medical officer of the starship Enterprise from 2251 until 2263, under the command of Captain Chris Pike. Boyce, noting that Pike was suffering from exhaustion following a mission to Rigel VII, urged Pike to relax a bit to avoid burnout. Boyce was of the opinion that a man would tell his bartender things he would never tell his doctor. ("The Cage" [TOS unaired pilot]; "Flesh of My Flesh" [Marvel EV #1; et al.]; "To Walk the Night" [DC TOS vol.2 Annual #4]). Played by John Hoyt.
Boyd, G.R.: Starfleet commodore who was the first chief of Starfleet Intelligence upon its founding in the mid-22nd century. Commodore Boyd had previously occupied a position as head of Terran Intelligence associated with the Earth Starfleet. (Star Fleet Intelligence--Agent's Orientation Sourcebook [FASA RPG]).
Boylen.: Lieutenant on the starship Pegasus who died in that ships loss in 2358. He had been known to refer to Ensign William Riker as "Ensign Babyface." ("The Pegasus" [TNG #164]).

Bozeman, U.S.S.: Federation starship, Soyuz-class cutter, Starfleet registry NCC-1941, commanded by Captain Morgan Bateson. The Bozeman was three weeks out of Starbase 12 when it disappeared in the Typhon Expanse in 2278. It remained trapped in a temporal causality loop for nearly 90 years until the loop was disrupted by the Enterprise-D, with whom they nearly collided. The Bozeman was driven into the loop during battle with the Klingon cruiser SoSoy tuj, which was on a mission to destroy Starbase 12 under the command of Kozara. The Bozeman crew, presumed dead, were honored posthumously as heroes. After emerging in 2368, the Bozeman was recertified for Starfleet service. In an anti-time timeline created in late 2370, the Bozeman was one of 15 ships diverted to the Romulan Neutral Zone to investigate a disturbance in the Devran system. In 2371 the Bozeman was forced to make a course correction to account for the destruction of the star Amargosa. The Bozeman was retired to the Fleet Museum and now serves as a showcase of various ship artifacts at Starbase 12. Bozeman-A, U.S.S.: Federation starship, Starfleet registry NCC-1941-A, commanded by Captain Morgan Bateson. Originally commissioned as the U.S.S. Roderick, this ship received a special dispensation to be rechristened the second Bozeman in honor of Captain Bateson and his crew. The Bozeman-A was part of the armada that fought at Terra in the Borg invasion of 2373. ("Ship of the Line" [Pocket TNG HC #8]).
