Former Starfleet Academy cadet.
Born in 2349, the son of Jack and Beverly Crusher, Wesley accompanied his
widowed mother to her posting on the starship Enterprise-D in 2364.
He received exceptional marks in that ship's school and began a work-study
program to achieve his ambition of joining Starfleet. He applied in 2364
to the Academy, but was rejected in favor of Cadet Mordoc of Benzar. He
reapplied in 2365 and was accepted into the next years class, but he missed
the transport and lost his place. He was later accepted when an opening
became available in 2367. His Starfleet Academy record was outstanding
until a 2368 incident where a member of his flight team was killed while
the squadron was performing an illegal maneuver. Wesley took responsibility
and confessed their wrongdoing, contrary to the wishes of Cadet Locarno
who would have kept the maneuver's illegality secret. ("Encounter at
Farpoint" [TNG #1&2; et al.]). Played by Wil Wheaton.

In
an alternate timeline created when the starship Enterprise-C traveled
twenty-two years forward into 2366, Wesley was a full ensign serving on
the Enterprise-D's bridge crew in the war against the Klingons.
He died during the battle to ensure the Enterprise-C's safe return.
("Yesterday's
Enterprise" [TNG #63]). This reality ceased to exist
upon the 1701-C's arrival back in its own time.

Wesley
was serving on the starship Enterprise-D as tactical in the year
2370 in an alternate reality visited by Worf after passing through a quantum
fissure. ("Parallels" [TNG #163]). This was one of hundreds of thousands
of possible realities that were seen by Worf.

In another
timeline, Wesley was commanding officer of the starship Santa Maria
by
2395, and designed a revolutionary "hyperport" technology which, using
an Iconian circuit, allowed transporters to operate without crossing the
space between the source and destination. This technology warped the biology
of all who used it, creating a massive plague which devastated Rovan IV.
Crusher used a modification of the device to send a Rovanian named Pierce
to the year 2366 and abort Wesley's first test of this device.
("Forbidden
Fruit" [DC TNG vol.2]). After the destruction of the hyperport device
this reality was averted, and it appears that this future for Wesley will
not come to pass, considering his 2370 resignation from Starfleet.

In an alternate
timeline created by the death of Deanna Troi in 2368, Wesley Crusher was
captain of the starship Hood in 2408, when that vessel ferried Admiral
Riker to Betazed to attend the death of Lwaxana Troi. Crusher had been
married twice and had three children. ("Imzadi" [Pocket TNG HC]). This
timeline was averted when Deanna was saved, and again it seems Wesley will
not have a future in Starfleet in the real timeline.

of a starships area. Any attempt to remove or deactivate the devices cause
immediate detonation, unless the bioscan of the tamperer reads as Romulan.
Two of these devices were placed on the Enterprise during its maiden

Cytherians make contact with other species, not by traveling through space,
but by bringing space travelers to them. They send out specially designed
probes that reprogram computers with instructions on how to reach the Cytherians.
The Enterprise-D encountered one such probe at the Argus Array in
2367. The probe had unsuccessfully attempted to reprogram the Argus computers,
and then the system of a shuttlecraft. The probe was finally able to place
it's data into the brain of Lieutenant Reginald Barclay, who brought the
ship to Cytheria. The Enterprise-D spent ten days in the company
of the Cytherians, exchanging a great deal of cultural and scientific information.

during the 23rd century. This vessel's construction was cancelled, and
it's registry was assigned to another vessel. (Technical
Manual [Franz Joseph TOS]; Ships
of the Star Fleet [Mastercom]). It's possible ships of these names
were still built, of different classes and registry numbers. If built,
this ship would have been Achernar-class, with the registry NCC-1798,
according to the manuals.
