& Chronology Information:
Stardate 8163.5, 2285. The stardate is specified in the Captain's log,
the year is based on the fact that the story takes place between the second
and third Star Trek movies.

Synopsis:
A former student of Kirk's is the only survivor of a battle with a Klingon
ship. He lands on a primitive planet and becomes a god. Kirk and his crew
must minimize the impact without further violations of the Prime Directive.

Comments & Nitpicks:
This story was later repinted in DC's "Best of Star Trek" collection. Comment:
The plot of the errant Starfleet captain posing as a god seems lifted straight
from the orginial series' "The Omega Glory" [TOS]. Nitpick:
The scenes of Admiral Kirk ordering phasers set on kill and the apparent
vaporization of several characters seems to be a little bit extreme for
a 'bending' of the Prime Directive.
